While doing a blog walk, I landed on a blog of one of the most popular athletes in Philippine Sports today - Smart Gilas superstar Chris Tiu. For those who don't know, he has his personal blog since 2008 (though he's not frequently updating it). His recent blog post is all about the recent typhoons that wrecked havoc in the country the past 2 weeks: Pedring and Quiel. It is about urging the Filipinos from different parts of the world to help our Filipino people, particularly in Luzon area who were badly affected by as high as 6-7 foot flood. Thousands of people need to be rescued as soon as possible;
It's time for us, who are not affected by these typhoons to help. I know there are lots of people who wanted to help, but don't know how to. Glad that Chris Tiu shared this very important instruction in blogosphere. As a blogger, it's also right to share my part - that is, spreading this information to different Filipino netizens around the world.
"To those who are unaware of how to help but would like to help, I've compiled some information on how you can help by donating or volunteering via HABITAT FOR HUMANITY and WORLD VISION. Feel free to spread this with your friends, schoolmates, officemates!!" - Chris Tiu.
